🎢Taking toddlers to Europa-Park? YES , it’s way easier (and more fun!) than you’d think.

🚗 Just over 2 hours from Zurich, it’s the perfect family day trip (or weekend away if you stay in one of the themed hotels). What surprised me most was how much there is for younger kid, our little one never felt left out!

Here are a few things that made it so much smoother for us:

👶 Bring a stroller (or wagon) — the park is huge and it doubles as storage for bags + snacks

🎢 Tons of rides are designed for ages 2–4, so toddlers really can join in the fun

🛒 There’s even a DM inside with diapers, sunscreen + baby snacks (plus lots of quiet spots to nurse)

🏨 6 themed hotels if you stay overnight — we loved the Colosseo, and Kronasar is perfect if you’re visiting Rulantica

🍝 Eat early or late to avoid long waits + bring your own water (it’s pricey inside)

🙋‍♀️ And if you are the rides parent, Baby Switch makes it easy to swap without waiting in line twice

1️⃣ How incredibly brave and resilient little ones are here, even when the goodbyes were tough. There’s such an emphasis on independence from the start 💛.

2️⃣How quickly the small routines like packing a healthy znüni snack and laying out clothes for the next day already feel so big and meaningful.

3️⃣ The rollercoaster of emotions (hers and mine 😆) in such a short week, especially navigating this unique Swiss school start.

4️⃣ How proud my heart feels watching this new chapter unfold. Seeing her walk home with her little backpack and kindergartenbändeli, so full of confidence, makes my heart want to burst. 💕

5️⃣ Just how exhausted I’d be by the end of each day. With all the new routines, and the emotions… why didn’t anyone warn me? 😂

What surprised you most when your little one first started school?

💕Our very last day before kindergarten 🥹✨

We tried to keep it simple, pancakes in the morning, a few last-minute errands, some playtime at the badi, and spaghetti for dinner. But somehow, every little moment felt more meaningful.

Packing her backpack, laying out her outfits, even making a first-day sign, all of it felt like closing a chapter I wasn’t quite ready to finish.

It’s hard to put into words how quickly the years have passed. Tonight, as everything sits neatly lined up for the morning, I keep thinking about all the mornings that led to this one: newborn bliss, the toddler years, the messy, ordinary moments that now feel like treasures.

Tomorrow, she takes her first step into a whole new world. And while my heart aches a little at how fast it all went, it’s also so full. 💛

All summer I’ve been saying I wanted to head to the pool after work — and with this heatwave, today was the day. ☀️💦 No cooking, no stress… just a swim, sunshine, and pizza delivery to end the night. Summer done right. How are you keeping cool this week?

✨ Reading out the names of all the kids in her class so they start to feel like familiar friends

✨ Looking at photos we took of her classroom on the open day and pointing out little details she’ll see again

✨ Visiting the school playground so the space feels like hers

✨ Practicing our morning routine so the first day feels smooth and familiar

This was one of my favorite days ever. We spent the morning at the Brienz Lake Lido. The turquoise water and incredible views are to die for. They have a little sand area and a play structure or kids. There is a little wading pool for kids and lots of green grass with shade. The restaurant has great food too!

🐄Then we packed up and drove just 5 minutes to the Trauffer Museum @trauffer_switzerland where we explored where the famous wooden cows are made. My daughter painted her very own pink cows and then we played outside by their cafe.

🧸I can’t believe I didn’t know about the amazing toy store earlier!

🎂For daughter’s 3rd birthday this year we went shopping at @beaswissag

🚂 I loved the selection of wooden toys, crafts, and dolls. And the prices are so good! They also have an online store and all their products are available there too!

👧🏼I will definitely bring her back on a rainy day. She could definitely play for hours with their kitchen set up.

☀️ Hasliberg has so much to offer for families. We spent the day at Bidmi Zwergenspielplatz. There are picnic table by the lake and places to grill. Then during our daughter’s nap we walked down the mountain.

🏔️There is also the Muggestutz theme trail. It’s not stroller friendly so we’ll wait till our little is ready to hike.

💜 If you hike from Bidmi down to Reuti there are 12 marble run along the way!

Despite feeling like we caught every 🦠 out there we did a lot in April. Here are some highlights👇🏼

🐰 We celebrated Easter by going to the giant @lindt bunny display at Zurich HB and the Easter bunny left gifts and chocolate eggs all around the house.

☀️ We tried to take advantage of any sun we could get! We had a really nice day at Zurich lake and the Chinagarten.

🎢 We went to @europapark for the day. The weather was perfect and there are so many great rides for toddlers.

☕️ We checked out @bakerybakery.vegan for the first time and loved playing with the toys. The location on Hardstrasse is great for families!

🦕 We visited the Zurich Zoological Museum for the first time. If you have a Dino lover this is a must visit. 10/10 recommend it!

🎂 Finally we celebrated our sweet girl’s third birthday with family and friends. She requested a Frozen theme and the day was perfect.

What was your April highlight?

⭐️ Day in the life on a work from home day! While I love the flexibility of working from home, I love the office and the social interactions so I’m happy with a mix of both.

The museum has a ton of old historical trams from different decades. There are also some cool kids activities like a mock tram on a track and a play train set.

It’s a great places to spend a hour or so on a rainy day!

Located in Zurich Airport (near check in 2) and open to the public (not just passengers). It’s a great activity for all ages as you get to watch planes take off and land.

Little kids will love the cool playground. The playground is covered so it’s great on a sunny or rainy day!

Entry is just 5CHF and it’s open daily from 10-6pm (or 5pm in the winter).
